The World Series of Video Games!
The World Series of Video Games has begun their 2007 season with $750,000 in cash prizes! This year, World of Warcraft's 3-vs-3 Arena will be featured as a premier event in competitions around the world. Registration is now open for two tournament locations: Louisville, Kentucky (June 21-24) and Dallas, Texas (July 5 - 8). For more information please visit: http://www.thewsvg.com. StarCraft Patch 1.15
We will be releasing Patch 1.15 for StarCraft within the next few weeks. This patch introduces new functionality to Battle.net that allows players to organize and join custom StarCraft leagues. These leagues support stat-tracking, custom icons, and replay uploading, among other features. Check out the StarCraft LDK page for more information.

Introducing the Burning Crusade Free Trial
Those not yet immersed in the quests and adventures beyond the Dark Portal are invited to take advantage of the new World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade free trial! If you are a current or previous World of Warcraft subscriber who has yet to experience the new content of The Burning Crusade, head over to the Burning Crusade free trial page now to start your download.

During your 10-day trial period, you can explore Outland, try your hand at the new jewelcrafting profession, and create blood elf and draenei characters, which you'll be able to keep if and when you decide to upgrade to the full version of the expansion. You can download the full versions of both World of Warcraft and The Burning Crusade when you begin the free trial but please note that World of Warcraft must be present on your computer prior to installing The Burning Crusade. BlizzCon 2007 Announced!
A year and a half ago, Blizzard hosted the first "BlizzCon," a convention celebrating the Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo game universes and the amazing community of players who contribute to their continued popularity. Today, Blizzard announced that BlizzCon will once again open its doors on August 3, 2007.

Highlights for this year's BlizzCon will include:

  • Discussion panels with Blizzard game developers
  • Competitive and casual tournaments, including a World of Warcraft TCG tournament
  • Costume, machinima, and character sound-alike contests with great prizes
  • Live orchestral performances of music from Blizzard games
  • And many more exciting activities to be announced soon!

Mac Support for OS X 10.3.9+
We plan to look into adopting World of Warcraft's installer, updater, launcher, and/or downloader applications for the Mac versions of StarCraft, Diablo II, and Warcraft III in the future. This will lead to a change in the minimum Mac system requirements for online play; namely, we'll be raising the minimum supported Mac OS version to OS X 10.3.9 when the next major patch is released for these titles. Season 5 Invitational Ladder
The Warcraft III Season 5 invitational ladder has begun. We have invited the top players from each regional ladder to compete in the invitational ladder. Please refer to the Season 5 FAQ for new information and guidelines about this season's competition. Good luck!
